With over 20 years’ experience, I support owners through everything from calmer walks and reliable recall to behaviour challenges, helping you and your dog thrive together. I’m Cris, the trainer behind Ruff Diamond, and I’m passionate about helping owners enjoy life with their dogs. My training is always kind, fair, and effective—building trust and confidence for both ends of the lead.

With over 20 years of experience, a Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training, and membership of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, I combine professional knowledge with a practical, supportive approach. I also continue to study and develop my skills so I can bring the very best to my clients.

After running classes for a local organisation, I founded Ruff Diamond Dog Training in 2009. Since then, I’ve loved delivering weekly classes, one-to-one training, and behaviour support for dogs and their families across the North East. I also provide online training, supporting clients both locally and further afield.

At home, life revolves around our four dogs Cal, Rossi, Dreya and Aldo. All of them hold their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards, and we’ve enjoyed everything from Talking Dogs Rally to agility and competitive obedience. Cal and Rossi are now happily retired, while Dreya and Aldo are still keeping me busy with training and competing!

When I’m not teaching or training, you’ll usually find me walking the dogs with my husband or simply spending quality time together. I know first-hand how rewarding (and sometimes challenging) life with dogs can be, and it’s a privilege to support others on their own journey.

I’m also a member of the Behaviour Collective, an informative group run by behaviourists and trainers.
